Four young boys, including a baby, missing and feared to be at risk in far north Queensland, have been found.

The boys, aged between eight months and nine years, were found at a home in the Cairns suburb of Edmonton about 3.45pm on Tuesday, police said in a statement.

They had issued an Amber Alert just hours earlier, saying the boys may be at "significant risk".

They were reported on Tuesday morning as being with Justine Margaret Murphy, who was known to them.

Police had believed Ms Murphy, 27, may have been travelling south to Ingham or Townsville in a white 1997 Holden Commodore sedan with Queensland registration 878UAC.
