White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders has been grilled by a reporter over the new "zero tolerance" policy after reports children are being separated from their parents at the border under the Trump administration's new hardline stance on immigration.
Reporters were questioning the morality of the Trump's administration new "zero tolerance" policy on families who are caught illegally crossing the border.
But one reporter became emotional when asking Ms Sanders, as a parent, if she had any empathy for the children.
“You’re a parent, don’t you have any empathy? Come on, Sarah. You’re a parent," Brian Karem, executive editor of CNN affiliate The Montgomery County Sentinel, said.
"Don’t you have any empathy for what these people are going through?”
“They have less than you do. Sarah, come on, seriously. Seriously.”
Ms Sanders ignored the questions claiming the reporter was trying to "get more TV time".
In May, Ms Sanders' teared up as she fielded an unexpected question about school shootings from a kid reporter at the White House.
