Zambia plunged into complete blackout

Almost the whole of Zambia, except for the southern and western provinces, has experienced a power failure.

Zambia has been plunged into a blackout affecting almost the entire country, the state power utility Zesco says.

"Almost the whole country except for Southern and Western province has experienced a power failure but we are yet to establish what has caused it," Zesco spokeswoman Bessie Banda said on Tuesday night.
