Adam Zampa collected his maiden 10-wicket haul in first class cricket to keep South Australia's hopes alive in their decisive Sheffield Shield match in Adelaide.
Zampa added 4-57 to his first-innings 6-62 as Queensland were dismissed for 216, setting South Australia a victory target of 279.
South Australia went into the tea break on day three at 1-47, having lost Sam Raphael for 19.
Young Queensland wicketkeeper Jimmy Peirson played an invaluable knock of 71 before being bowled by part-time spinner Travis Head.
Zampa then ran through the tail for match figures of 10-119.
The winner of the match is likely to move into second spot amid a tight race for a berth in next month's Sheffield Shield final.
