The man accused of murdering 16-year-old Brisbane girl Larissa Beilby and leaving her body in a barrel in the back of a ute has been charged with attempting to murder another woman.
Zlatko Sikorsky, 34, was on Sunday charged with murder, torture, deprivation of liberty and interfering with a corpse after Larissa's body was found on the Gold Coast last week.
Sikorsky allegedly also tortured and attempted to murder a 32-year-old Logan woman, who came forward to police on Monday to claim she was seriously assaulted on two occasions by him in June.
The woman alleges she was assaulted and threatened with a gun by Sikorsky inside a vehicle in Logan on June 5, a police statement said on Friday.
Two days later, while they were travelling in Brisbane's east, he repeatedly punched her in the head and pushed her into a car window, police allege.
The treatment caused bruising to her face.
Sikorsky is set to face Beenleigh Magistrates Court over Friday's charges of two counts of attempted murder and one each of torture and assault occasioning bodily harm on September 3 - the same day as his next mention for the murder charge.
He has been accused of murdering Larissa sometime between June 22 and 28.
Her body was found inside a barrel on the back of a black ute that was abandoned on June 27 at a residential complex at Stapylton on the northern Gold Coast.
Police tracked the vehicle after a man drove it away from a home at Buccan, south of Brisbane, when they went there to investigate Larissa's disappearance.
He was eventually tracked to a unit on the Sunshine Coast where a 28-hour siege unfolded. He surrendered without incident on Saturday evening.
Police will allege that Sikorsky had possession of a shotgun and a handgun.
Outside Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday, Sikorsky's lawyer Brendan Ryan said he would look to defend him by arguing Larissa died as a result of misadventure.
Sikorsky is also accused of detaining Larissa in a vehicle against her will, as well as a dozen other charges including possessing weapons and dangerous drugs, and dangerous operation of a vehicle.
