Brisbane residents paid more for petrol than any of their Australian capital city counterparts, figures reveal.

Unleaded petrol in the Queensland capital averaged 143.9 cents per litre - one cent higher than Perth, while top-ranked Adelaide was 3.6 cents cheaper, according to RACQ.

Brisbane petrol jumped 14 cents from the previous year, the organisation's yearly fuel price report found on Wednesday.
