England captain Alastair Cook is hoping new coach Trevor Bayliss divulges some inside knowledge on Australia.
Bayliss has landed in London and officially starts his new post on Saturday when the team travels to Spain for a bonding camp.
He remains close with many in the Australian team, having coached NSW and the Sydney Sixers.
The 52-year-old was also in charge of Australia's Twenty20 side during a series against South Africa last year, when Darren Lehmann took a break.
"Trevor's knowledge of cricket, but in particular of Australian cricket, is going to be second to none," Cook told Sky Sports on Friday.
"Absolutely we're going to try and use that to our advantage."
Paceman Stuart Broad echoed Cook's thoughts.
"Having an Australian coach for the first time, we'll certainly be picking his brain to get any sort of advantage," Broad told Sky.
Broad was famously accused of "blatant cheating" by Lehmann in one of the flashpoints of the 2013 Ashes.
The 29-year-old has been engaged in a long-running battle with Australian fans and players since.
Jimmy Anderson recently called on both sides to stop sledging in the five-Test series, but Broad doubted whether there would be an armistice.
"Having had some decent experience of Ashes series, I'm not sure it will be as polite as the New Zealand series," he said.
"This England team will be right up for challenge ... we'll be up for the battle.
"You don't have to say anything, you just have to have that look in your eye."
England are coming off a drawn two-Test series with New Zealand.
Broad, who snagged a seven-wicket haul in his most recent county outing, noted confidence wouldn't an issue for his side during the Ashes.
"Australia haven't won a series in England since 2001, England play some fantastic cricket in England," he said.
"A lot of us have played against the Australians quite a lot and we should go into the series with some good confidence."
