British actress Emilia Clarke, who has amassed fans thanks to her role in Game Of Thrones, has been named the world's most desirable woman.

Australia's newest star in Hollywood Margot Robbie has also captured the hearts of many men around the globe following her sexy role in The Wolf of Wall Street.

In a global vote for the AskMen website, which saw more than a million votes cast, Clarke was voted the woman most desired by men, beating the likes of Emma Watson, Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Moss.

Robbie was voted at No.9.

The poll - now in its 13th year - asks readers to base their votes on sex appeal, character and talent to compile its Top 99 most desirable women of 2014 list.

Runner-up was Alison Brie from TV's Mad Men while model Emily Ratajkowski who featured nearly naked in the video for Robin Thicke single Blurred Lines was in third position.

Despite her own plentiful displays of flesh and racy performances, Miley Cyrus managed to make her debut on the list at No. 99.

AskMen publisher Mike Goldstein says Clarke's win is attributed to the strength and character she portrays on screen, as well as the global popularity of Game Of Thrones.

"It's great to see a Brit top our list this year," he added.

Model Cara Delevingne was ranked No.13 and the Duchess of Cambridge was in 35th position.
