Brimming with confidence after their one-day international series domination of Australia, England are determined to keep their foot on the hosts' throat in their T20 tri-series.
The tourists have turned things around since a miserable Ashes defeat to salvage some pride with a 4-1 victory over Australia in the ODI series.
In the T20s, a second front will open with New Zealand joining the fray.
Big-hitting batsman Sam Billings isn't claiming a psychological edge over Australia after his countrymen embarrassed them in the 50-over format.
But he knows what winning can do for a team.
"Without a doubt one-day cricket is very much a confidence kind of game," Billings said.
"You play an attacking brand of cricket and a lot translates into the Twenty20, although admittedly it compresses a little bit."
England will tune up for the series by facing one of the strongest Prime Minister's XI line-ups in recent years in Friday night's match in Canberra.
Billings joined up with the national squad after a BBL stint with the Sydney Sixers, which will provide five players including skipper Nathan Lyon for the PM's XI clash.
"At the moment of course we've done well in the one-dayers but (we've got) a pretty new squad, but hopefully that's another lease of energy as well," he said.
