Andy Nolch revealed he vandalised the memorial of murder victim Eurydice Dixon at Carlton North Sports oval because it was "an attack on feminism".

Nolch told The Age that defacing the memorial was not a "personal attack at all", but rather an "attack on feminism".

“I was upset, and I want to make this clear, this was not a personal attack at all...this was purely an attack on feminism, on mainstream media for hijacking a vaccine-causing issue and turning it into a men are bad, women’s rights issue,” Nolch told The Age.

Nolch made the admission he was charged by police on his Facebook page overnight on Thursday.

"I've been charged by the cops," he wrote. "Sometimes you have to do wild things to raise awareness".

Mr Nolch was attacked on Facebook by other social media users after the charges were laid.

Paint was used to deface a Carlton North sports field where Ms Dixon was found raped and murdered on June 13.

Mr Nolch describes himself as a blogger "exposing the kinky truth".

"Find out about government corruption, aliens, conspiracy theories, spirituality and much much more," he says in his Facebook description.

He also told the publication he was 29-years-old, though police said Nolch was 31.

Police said they arrested a 31-year-old Bulleen man on Thursday last week over the offensive markings painted around the memorial.
