A fresh contingent of trained aerial observers will soon join the Australian-led search for missing flight MH370.

The South Australia State Emergency Service (SASES) is sending four observers with past involvement in airborne searches at sea and remote areas.

"It's a demanding task which requires intense concentration over extended periods of time," said SASES Chief Officer Chris Beattie on Saturday.

"Tomorrow's deployment of our volunteers to Perth is a great example of agency interoperability and just one part of a massive search that has involved ships, aircraft, submarines and satellites from more than 20 countries."

The aerial search, looking for debris or any other sign of the missing plane, is focused on an area of about 217,000 square kilometres some 1700 kilometres southwest of Perth.

Ships are also conducting an underwater search, dragging "ping detectors" that could pick up a signal from the plane's black box recorder.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 has been missing since March 8 and "our thoughts are with the families of all those people who were on-board the plane," Mr Beattie also said.
