Kylie Minogue fails to impress the US

Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue's new album, Kiss Me Once, has debuted at No 31 on the US charts.

We love her at home, but Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue has fallen short of the No 1 spot in the United Kingdom and the United States.

The 45-year-old's 12th album, Kiss Me Once, has debuted at No 31 in the US. In Britain, it took second place behind George Michael's Symphonica.

The 12,000 albums sold in the US are more than the 8166 units in Australia that put Minogue on top of our ARIA charts.

The singer spent a lot of time in the US working on Kiss Me Once.

After splitting from longtime manager Terry Blamey, the man credited with propelling her to international stardom, Minogue signed with Jay Z's Roc Nation management arm in 2013.

Kiss Me Once features a collaboration between Minogue and hitmaker Pharrell Williams, as well as input from various US producers and songwriters.

Its first single, Into The Blue, failed to make it into ARIA's top 40 singles and has fallen out of the top 100 after just three weeks.

The second single from the record will be launched live on stage when Minogue performs at the Logie Awards on April 27.
