The NSW Central Coast will receive a $32.5 million contribution from a re-elected Turnbull government for a medical school at Gosford.

The Turnbull government will chip in $32.5 million towards a medical school on the NSW Central Coast if it wins the federal election.

Under the plan, Newcastle University will have a branch at Gosford and 150 medical students will transfer there each year to study alongside nursing and allied health students.

The Liberal party is keen to retain Karen McNamara's marginal seat of Dobell and MP Lucy Wicks in the marginal seat of Robertson.
