The last time Switzerland made the quarter-finals was way back in 1954, when they lost to Austria 7-5, with an extraordinary nine goals booted in the opening half.
Like the earlier match, a minute's silence has been held for South African player Jayden Adams who died in Cape Town on Saturday morning. No reason has been giving for his death.

Starting lineups for Argentina and Switzerland
Now we turn our attention to today's other quarter-final between reigning champions Argentina and Switzerland in Kansas City.
Kick-off is at 11am, with the winner to take on England in the semi-final next week.
Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni has made no changes to the starting XI that dramatically came back from two goals to defeat Egypt 3-2 in the Round of 16.
Switzerland have made one change to the side that beat Colombia on penalties, with Djibril Sow replacing Ardon Jashari.

Controversy over camera cable
There's been some controversy over the lead-up to England's first goal, after Nyland's goal kick appeared to make contact with an overhead camera cable.
The ball dropped short at the feet of Elliot Anderson, allowing England to begin their attack.
Nyland was seen arguing with referee Clément Turpin after the goal but nothing came from it.
Now FIFA has doubled down, saying a sensor in the ball showed no evidence of contact with the wire.
Had the ball made contact, play would have stopped and a drop ball would have been used to determine possession.
Former Socceroos goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne it should have been a drop ball.
"You saw the reaction from Nyland straight after the goal, he went up to the ref and protested as any good goalkeeper should," he said on SBS.
"It’s a little bit bizarre that something like this can happen. It should’ve been a drop ball. England win but there is some controversy around them."
Former Socceroo Tommy Oar said another camera angle, which wasn't shared by FIFA, showed the ball's trajectory changing as it dropped out of the air.
"I completely understand Norway’s frustrations at this," he said.
"I think it was an error. I personally think [FIFA] should’ve acknowledged the error rather than doubling down on the technology stance."

England prevail, but what a run from Norway
England prevailed, but what a World Cup run for Norway, who became the dark horse in their first tournament in 28 years.
They've only played in four tournaments, and it's the first time they've reached the quarter-finals.
For England, who won their only tournament in 1966, it marks their first semi-final since 2018, which they lost to Croatia.
