A man has been charged after a woman was hit by a car on the corner of a Sydney street and it failed to stop.
The 50-year-old woman was struck by a black Lexus sedan while standing on the intersection of Rickard Road and Stacey Street in Bankstown about 7.45pm on Friday, police have been told.
She was taken to Liverpool Hospital with serious injuries.
A 27-year-old man has since been arrested and a damaged vehicle, parked on nearby Weigand Avenue, seized.
The alleged hit-and-run offender was charged with both dangerous and negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, and one count of not give particulars to injured person and fail to stop and render assistance.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
