Melbourne tunnel reopens after truck fire

Melbourne's Burnley tunnel has started to reopen after a truck's cabin burst into flames.

A Melbourne tunnel has re-opened after a truck carrying concrete pavers burst into flames.

Firefighters called to the tunnel about 9.30am on Friday found the truck's cabin fully alight, but the driver managed to get out safely.

The fire was put out by firefighters and the tunnel's sprinkler system by about 10am.

The tunnel remained closed to all West Gate inbound traffic until about 10.40am when two lanes opened at a reduced speed.

The left lane of the tunnel will remain closed until the truck is towed.
