Three directors of Coca-Cola Amatil will retire along with chairman David Gonski at the beverage supplier's annual general meeting in May.

The company says non-executive directors David Meiklejohn, Wal King and Tony Froggatt will retire, leaving eight members on the Coca-Cola Amatil board.

With the one new non-executive director Coca-Cola Amatil intends to appoint in 2017, there will be nine board members - the same as in 2015.

Coca-Cola Amatil says the changes are part of its board renewal and succession plan, which has included the appointment of three extra directors since 2015.

Mr Gonski, whose retirement was announced in February, will be replaced by Ilana Atlas.

Shares in Coca-Cola Amatil were 8 cents lower at $10.33 at 1248 AEDT.

In February, Coca-Cola Amatil booked a 37.4 per cent drop in annual net profit to $246.1 million for 2016.

The slide in headline profit was due to a $171.8 million after tax writedown on its SPC fruit processing and canning business.
