Morrison says no to debate on euthanasia

Scott Morrison says he will never support a case for voluntary euthanasia for terminally ill patients in palliative care.

Social Services Minister Scott Morrison says he will never support voluntary euthanasia.

"I believe in the sanctity of human life," Mr Morrison told 3AW.

Victoria's parliament last week voted to have an inquiry into end of life issues and palliative care.

The upper house took the action after an original bid to hand the task to the Victorian Law Reform Commission failed.

The inquiry will report back to the parliament by the end of March.
