Morrison sworn-in as new prime minister

Scott Morrison has been officially sworn in as Australia's 30th prime minister in a ceremony at Government House in Canberra.

The newly-elected Liberal leader went to see Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove on Friday night to officially replace Malcolm Turnbull as the nation's leader.

Mr Morrison, 50, will pick his new cabinet over the weekend before they are sworn in next week.
