The family of a Melbourne woman killed in the UK has set up a crowdfunding campaign so they can travel to England and bring her body home.

Amy Parsons, 35, was pronounced dead on Friday at the London flat she shared with her long-term boyfriend Roderick Deakin-White.
Deakin-White, 37, has been charged with her murder and is due to appear in London's Old Bailey on Wednesday at a bail hearing.

Ms Parsons was last in Australia in January and had been planning her wedding, according to media reports.

The crowdfunding effort hit its target of $20,000 on Tuesday.

Ms Parsons' family said any excess funds would be donated to domestic violence campaigns.

"Over 12 months, on average, one woman is killed every week as a result of intimate partner violence. They are our mothers, daughters, sisters and friends," the mycause.com.au fundraiser page said.

"Tragically, only a few days ago our beloved Amy Parsons was taken from this world without warning. Amy had been living in the UK for several years and at present time there is no family with her.

"Amy had so many friends all over the world, and she was the kindest soul. She was the most beautiful person. Amy was adventurous, intelligent, kind-hearted, down-to-earth and loved by all who knew her.

"She was a loving daughter to her mother Leonie & father Michael and best friend and one-of-a-kind sister to Eve.

"In memory of Amy and her love for her family we are asking you to donate; whatever you feel comfortable to assist her family to be in the UK and return Amy home to Australia.

"Any excess proceeds will go to prevention work to create a future free from violence."
