New board for Anzac centenary

The federal government has established a new body to oversee project funding for the centenary of Anzac.

The federal government has established a new board to oversee the Anzac Centenary Public Fund.

It includes retired defence force chief Angus Houston, and former federal politicians Gary Humphries and Con Sciacca.

The heads of finance and veterans affairs make up the five-member board.

Mr Humphries will be the board's chairman.

It will assess assess projects and make recommendations to the government for project funding from the centenary fund.

The new body replaces the Anzac Centenary Advisory Board which the government says has now completed its work.
