Australian Nigerians are celebrating Muhammadu Buhari's victory in Nigeria's presidential election.
The 72 year old former army general defeated Goodluck Jonathan in the first democratic change of power on record in Africa's most populous nation.
Mr Buhari, who led a military regime in the 1980s, now describes himself as a converted democrat.
A spokesman for a group known as the Nigerian Society of Victoria, Charles Akinola, told Aileen Phillips there is a sense of relief and euphoria over the political change.
