September 12th: NEW YORK IN LOCKDOWN FOR ANNIVERSARY
Brian Thomson has been on the streets of New York talking to some of those paying their respects. He says the personal stories are so moving that one realises how 9/11 not only took away lives, but also left a long-lasting effect on survivors as they deal with extremely painful memories.
September 11th: FLIGHT 93 VICTIMS REMEMBERED
A weekend of remembrance began in the US with two former presidents attending the dedication of the memorial at Shanksville in Pennsylvania that commemorates the passengers of United Airlines Flight 93, who sacrificed their lives to save others.
September 11th: MUSLIMS GATHER FOR PRAYER ON EVE OF 9/11
On the eve of September 11 Muslims gathered for prayer at New York's largest mosque.
Members of the Islamic community are sending messages of tolerance, understanding and engagement, however many say attitudes towards muslims are now worse than it was in the immediate aftermath of the attacks.

September 10th: SECURITY TIGHT AHEAD OF ANNIVERSARY
New York City was in virtual gridlock amid a massive security sweep across the city ahead of the September the 11th anniversary. US secretary of state Hillary Clinton has warned al-Qaeda is again targeting Americans, but that didn't stop anniversary ceremonies from going ahead.
September 10th: FAMILIES COUNT THE COST OF WAR ON TERROR
Soon after the September 11 attacks, George W Bush launched the "war on terror". But 10 years on many Americans, including those who lost family members, are asking was it worth the cost and the loss of life.
September 9th: FADING HEALTH OF 9/11 HEROES
Many of those who risked their lives to save others in New York, compromised their own health. In the past year, 18,000 people have sought medical help. Many were first responders, like firefighters. The US government is providing some medical compensation, but not for some of the most serious diseases, such as cancer.

September 9th: NEY YORK JITTERS BEFORE 9/11 ANNIVERSARY
United States authorities have launched a major security operation after revealing a threat of an attack ahead of the 10th anniversary of September the 11th. US media are reporting three individuals may be planning to hit bridges or tunnels in Washington DC or New York. Both cities are now on high alert, and President Barack Obama has ordered stronger counter- terrorism efforts.
