Ben Carroll has been voted the new premier of Victoria after a Labor Party meeting today.
Mr Carroll is replacing Jacinta Allan, who stood down from the job today, telling reporters it was the right decision for Victorians.
Ms Allan says she thought carefully about the decision before standing down.
The change in leadership came after a meeting on the weekend, where members of the party decided Jacinta Allan did not have enough support.

In France, firefighters are getting control over a large wildfire that has forced hundreds of thousands of people to leave their homes.
Two wildfires in the southwest region of France have burnt over 405 square kilometres of land.
Around 220,000 people have been made to leave their homes.
Officials have sent 2,500 firefighters, 18 aircraft and 1,500 soldiers to fight the fires.
French President Emmanuel Macron says he is thankful for their work.
"The fire did not spread today, so over the last 24 hours we can clearly see that all the work carried out by our aerial resources and by the men and women on the ground — our firefighting units that have truly held it back. So congratulations to them. We are in a much better position. That said, I remain cautious as temperatures are set to rise again, and the wind is still present."

In the United States, three people have been killed and four injured in a shooting at a food festival in the city of Seattle.
Police say two people shot at each other at the festival, causing crowds to run away.
One suspect was arrested by police, but the other has not been found.
A two-year-old boy was one of the four people injured, and all of them are stable in hospital.
Assistant Police Chief Tyrone Davis says police were fast in their response.
"So now we have a total of three fatalities out of those seven victims. This is a tragedy. I'm really sorry that this happened. The Bite of Seattle is a very, positive event. We haven't had any issue in recent years. And, you know, thankfully, we had officers on the scene that were brave, went to those shots and prevented more victims from being injured."
