The family of Kumantjayi Little Baby have called for calm across the central Australian community, following the death of the five-year-old girl.

Senior Yapa (Walpiri) elder and spokesperson for the family of Kumantjayi Little Baby, Robin Granites, says it is now time for sorry business, to show respect for family and to have space for grieving and remembering.

Ms Granites also says justice must be allowed to take its course.

She says the community needs to be strong for each other, and respect family and cultural practice, as is the Yapa way.

Federal Independent MP, Allegra Spender, says the Federal Government has questions to answer about counter terrorism funding, in light of the interim report of the antisemitism royal commission.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has downplayed revelations in the report that spending on counter-terrorism 'significantly declined' ahead of the Bondi terror attack.

The report has made 14 recommendations including more security at Jewish events, a review of Australia's intelligence systems and nationally consistent gun laws.

Allegra Spender told the Today show the public hearings starting next week will be critical.

"The report does raise the question about counter terrorism funding and I think those are questions the government needs to answer, that is really important. There are also questions about NSW policing, particularly on this event and also the coordination between different levels of security services so I think the interim report raises really important questions and there are a number of groups including the government that will be on the hook to give answers."

Foreign Minister Penny Wong says South Korea and Australia have agreed to strengthen co-operation in the energy sector as the countries continue to deal with fuel supply disruption from the war in the Middle East.

Crude oil prices have soared since the US and Israel began its attack on Iran on the 28th of February , which resulted in Tehran effectively closing the Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of the world's oil flows.

Minister Wong met with her South Korean counterpart Cho Hyun, and Energy Minister Kim Jong-kwan in her latest stop on a three-country tour that also includes China and Japan, as Australia co-ordinates with regional partners on energy security.

Minister Wong says South Korea is a key supplier of fuel to Australia.

"You're our largest supplier of diesel, you're a key supplier of refined petroleum products: I think the second largest supplier of petrol and the third largest supplier of jet fuel. I want to emphasise that those imports to Australia enable us to continue to be a reliable exporter to you, of energy, of food and other commodities to ROK but also the countries of the region. We depend on you and you depend on us."

Officials in Lebanon say at least 24 people have been killed in Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon.

Lebanon's Health Ministry initially said nine people, including two children and five women, were killed and 23 were wounded.

The country's official National News Agency later reported at least 15 people were killed and several others wounded in Israeli airstrikes in the afternoon, including a family of four who's home was struck in the village of Jibchit.

Hezbollah says it carried out retaliatory attacks, targeting two Israeli tanks in Bint Jbeil, and Israel's military said a Hezbollah drone attack had killed an Israeli soldier in southern Lebanon.

The exchange of strikes comes despite a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon that took effect on April 17, following weeks of intensified cross-border fighting

To sport now, Collingwood and Hawthorn have fought-out the first draw of the A-F-L season, in an extraordinary thriller at the M-C-G.

The Magpies consistently threatened to take the lead, but Hawk Dylan Moore kicked a last second equaliser after the siren.

With Collingwood up by six points, returning skipper Darcy Moore dropped a mark in the dying seconds of the final quarter, then tackled Dylan Moore high, giving away the decisive free kick that resulted in a 93-93 draw.

Despite the disappointing result for Hawthorn, the team has maintained a run of seven unbeaten games, which moves them two points clear of Sydney and Fremantle at the top of the ladder.
