- Dozens injured in Iranian strikes on southern Israel
- South Australia's Premier promises to work with rivals in the interests of voters
- Alex de Minaur has been defeated at the Miami Open
Israeli emergency services and local media say missile strikes in southern Israel have injured dozens, with impacts reported in Dimona and nearby Arad.
Dimona hosts Israel’s nuclear research centre, widely believed by international experts to be linked to its alleged, undeclared nuclear weapons programme.
An Israeli hospital is reporting 35 people have been admitted, including a 10-year-old boy, injured by shrapnel.
Soroka Medical Centre Deputy Director, Roy Kessous, provides this update on 35 of the patients.
"Two of them to the trauma room: A 12-year-old boy in serious condition. After stabilising his condition, he was transferred to the operating room. And another injured person in his twenties is in moderate condition. The remaining injured are in mild condition and in distress."
The hospital is located in Be'er Sheva, in the Negev region of southern Israel.

Meanwhile, Iran says it has launched retaliatory strikes on Gulf air bases.
Iranian state media claims targets included Al-Minhad in the United Arab Emirates and Ali Al Salem in Kuwait, alleging they were used in attacks on Iranian territory.
However, authorities in the UAE and Kuwait have not confirmed any strikes, and the claims cannot be independently verified.

The latest reported strikes by Iran on the UAE and Kuwait, come as multiple US allies enter the Middle East to launch defensive operations to protect Gulf nations from attacks by Iran and secure the Strait of Hormuz.
UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper has denied the country is entering into war against Iran.
"We're not and continue not to be involved in offensive action, and we've taken a different view from the US and Israel on this, but we are supporting defensive action. To support our interests in the UK national interest, and that includes recognising Iran's escalating threats to international shipping as well as their threats to our Gulf partners, none of whom were involved in the initial strikes as well."

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas has expressed his gratitude after the Labor party secured a convincing win at the state election.
In a televised address last night, Mr Malinauskas thanked his opponents, South Australian Liberal leader Ashton Hurn and state One Nation leader, Cory Bernardi.
He also acknowledged One Nation's immense surge to capture 20 per cent of the vote.
"Cory Bernardi and One Nation also deserve recognition. Not just for the way they went out of their way to contact me this evening, but also for getting a very significant result at the ballot box, which does deserve recognition and credit. And I say to both Ashton and Cory Bernardi - along with other leaders of parties elected to the parliament tonight - that my government stands ready to work with each and everyone of you, so long as it is in the interests of South Australians."

To sport and in tennis, Greek tennis superstar Stefanos Tsitsipas has defeated Alex de Minaur 6-3 7-6 (7-3) at the Miami Open.
Setting aside the injury woes that has curtailed his career, the one-time world number 3 disposed of de Minaur in one hour and 41 minutes.
In their 16 meetings dating back to 2017, de Minaur has won just twice - in first-round qualifying on grass at Surbiton in 2017 and in the quarter-finals of Acapulco in 2024.
Tsitsipas will now meet Number 28 seed Arthur Fils for a place in the last 16.
