INTERVIEW: Is 'deepfake technology' developing faster than detection?

Andrea Hickerson, Dean of the School of Journalism at the University of Mississippi Source: AP
The challenges of detecting deepfakes are increasingly difficult due to rapidly evolving technology. Current technology used to detect deepfakes is limited, only providing a probability rather than a certainty. Andrea Hickerson is the dean of the School of Journalism and New Media at the University of Mississippi in the United States. In this interview, she breaks down the regulatory and legal challenges of managing deepfakes, including the need for timely and effective legal responses.
