In April 2023, Finland joined the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. The Nordic nation's top diplomat in Canberra says the new 'geopolitical era' - following Russia's invasion of Ukraine - now requires the country to strengthen ties with like minded partners, like Australia. Pablo Vinales Political Correspondent for SBS News spoke with Finnish Ambassador Arto Haapea in Canberra.
