Lebanon is reeling from widespread devastating Israeli air strikes that put the US-Iran ceasefire under strain.

Human Rights Watch says more than 100 Israeli strikes across the country on April 8 killed over 300 peple and damaged the last main bridge linking southern Lebanon with the rest of the country.

The group says Israeli strikes making bridge crossings over the Litani River unusable threaten to sever tens of thousands of people in southern Lebanon from access to humanitarian aid, food, and health care.

Israel has repeatedly said it is targeting Iranian-backed militant group Hezbollah, while the United Nations has repeatedly called for civilians to be protected from the conflict.

How are civilians coping?

SBS World News has spoken with UN World Food Programme Country Director Allison Oman Lawi about the impact on civilians and how this latest campaign is affecting their operations.
