Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi says the conflict between Iran and the United States and Israel can not be separated from the conflict in Lebanon, when it comes to a peace deal.
He says in reaching a memorandum of understanding with the United States, war on all fronts including Lebanon, must end.
Speaking to CNN, Iranian official Mohsen Rezaei says the deal also hinges on the Trump administration agreeing to release $24-billion in frozen Iranian assets, warning Iran will widen the conflict if the United States resumes attacks.
Abbas Araqchi says either the war ends in both places, or continues in both places.
“We did not create the link. Israel created this link, by entering into war with Hezbollah during the war with us and intensifying its attacks on Lebanon. Therefore, this connection was not created by us, it was created by the Zionist regime, but ending it will not be in their hands. This war will end when it also ends in Lebanon. This is our clear position. This was our position on the ceasefire, and this is our position on ending the war.”

Russia is accusing Ukraine of killing five crew on two cargo vessels headed for a Russian port in a drone attack.
Ukraine says it's drones struck five ships in the Sea of Azov, as well as in the coastal waters of Russian-controlled territories.
Ukrainian authorities say the drones hit dry cargo ships and a tanker it says were involved in "stealing" Ukrainian grain and transferring military cargo and fuel.
The crew members killed were from Azerbaijan but that country's Foreign Ministry says the ships did not belong to Azerbaijan.
It comes as Russian President Vladimir Putin rejected a proposal from Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy for a face-to-face meeting on ending the 4-year-old conflict.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says the rise of One Nation was a factor in the government's decision to implement significant tax reforms.
In a speech delivered in Sydney, Anthony Albanese reiterated his case for changing the capital gains tax discount and negative gearing, saying it will make a difference.
He says declining living standards has caused voter frustration and One Nation is using that to build its brand.
"If people think the economy isn't working for them, and they're working their guts out and they're not getting opportunity, I tell you what they will turn to more simplistic, grievance-based politics and that is the context in which my government are saying 'no, no, we're going to deliver real change."

US Vice President JD Vance is blaming mass migration for the murder of British teenager Henry Nowak, intensifying a political row over the case.
Writing on social media platform X, Vance says the 18-year-old would still be alive if European leaders had resisted what he called a "mass invasion of migrants".
Downing Street has rejected the comments, accusing outside critics of trying to stir division in Britain.
Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy has hit back at Elon Musk over his repeated posts about the case, accusing him of exploiting the Nowak family's grief.
"Anyone who has seen the video, its so harrowing and appalling. I have got two teenage sons, my heart goes out to the (Henry Nowak) Nowak family. Let us not exploit their situation. They have asked for calm, they have asked of course for us to look closely at the issues around knife crime. Let us respect them. Elon Musk really, I think he should stay out of this complex but painful situation for that family."
