Former President Donald Trump has been injured in what appears to have been an assassination attempt as he spoke at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

This is the moment the attack took place.

Donald Trump: "Take a look at what happened" What sounds like three shots are fired. Screams. Then another four or five shots. Another shot at 17 secs in. Screams. Secret Service staff surround Trump."

Police say the shooter was killed and a member of the public also died while two other spectators are critically injured.

Mr Trump suffered a wound to his right ear after the shooting started shortly after he began addressing his supporters.

Secret Service agents immediately surrounded the former president and started dragging him off the stage with a momentary pause as Donald Trump asks them to wait as he waves his fist in the air.

Secret service agent "I got you, sir, I got you. Trump: "Let me get my shoes." Secret service agent: "Hold onto your head. Sir, we've got to move too close. Watch out."

The attacker killed one spectator at the rally, and two others are critically injured, according to the Secret Service, who shot the attacker dead.

Mr Trump has since released a statement saying he was "fine".

An Israeli air strike in a designated humanitarian zone in Gaza has killed at least 90 people and injured hundreds of others.

Israel says the strike targeted senior Hamas leader Mohammed Deif and his deputy Rafa Salama.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the strike but says there's no certainty that either man has been killed.

He says Mohammed Deif plotted the October 7 attack.

"Mohamed Deif is a master of murders, the Hamas chief of staff, number two in the chain of command. And was the planner and leader of the 7 October massacre and of many other terrorist attacks. His hands are stained with the blood of many Israelis."

Scott Anderson from the United Nations agency for Palestinian Refugees has been to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis which is treating many of the wounded.

"I guess alarming is the best word to describe it. A lot of children there that were injured, some without their parents. We saw children that were paralysed, some double amputees. So it was very much for us concerning that so many innocent civilians have been harmed during this event. And they were just putting patients really anywhere they could and unfortunately the hospital doesn't have enough disinfectant, doesn't have enough fuel for the generators and just doesn't have enough of anything."

People have gathered in Tel Aviv for a weekly rally to demand the return of the remaining Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.

Protesters have been calling on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to step down and have been pushing for a cease-fire to bring back scores of hostages held by Hamas.

Andrey Kozlov, who spent 246 days as a Hamas captive, addressed the rally.

"My time in Gaza was a living hell. I may look okay to you from the outside, but the pain weighs on me more than anyone can see. We must all fight for them. Raise our voice and get them out. Time is running out. Take it from me, every day matters, every minute and even every second."

A court in Pakistan has acquitted former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife on charges of unlawful marriage.

But Khan will not be released after authorities issued fresh order to arrest him.

The couple were sentenced to seven years prison in February when a court found them guilty of breaking Islamic law by failing to observe the required interval between Bushra Bibi's divorce from a previous marriage and her marriage to Mr Khan.

They had filed an appeal against their convictions.

A sex therapist who became a media star in the United States through television and best-selling books has died at the age of 96.

Dr Ruth Westheimer made a name for herself with her frank talk about once-taboo bedroom topics.

She encouraged an open dialogue on previously closeted issues that affected her audience of millions and her one recurring theme was there was nothing to be ashamed of.

She died at her home in New York surrounded by her family.

In tennis, Barbora Krejcikova held off Italian Jasmine Paolini to win the Wimbledon singles title.

The Czech doubles specialist had dominated the opening set with a near-perfect display but was then rocked by a Paolini fightback which sent the showpiece into a decider.

A nervous third set swung Krejcikova's way when she broke serve at 3-3 and she went on to complete victory on her third match point winning 6-2 2-6 6-4 .

"It's unbelievable. I mean just two weeks ago I started here, I had a very tough first match, three hours 15 (minutes) winning 7-5 in the third set and I really wasn't in good shape before that because I was injured and ill. I didn't really have a good beginning of the season and it's unbelievable, I'm standing here and I'm a Wimbledon winner.''
