Nepal has renewed its plea for international assistance following last week's mudslide disaster that has so far claimed over 600 lives and left thousands unaccounted for.
Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal says Nepal requires specialist assistance to rescue people trapped in tunnels, restore transport and communication lines where bridges had been destroyed, identify bodies, and conduct DNA testing.
China's Xinhua news agency says Beijing has dispatched five tunnel experts so far, while India and South Korea have also sent similar teams.
Australia's Assistant Foreign Minister Matt Thistlethwaite says four DFAT Crisis Response Team officers and four Rapid Response Team humanitarian specialists are expected to arrive in Nepal today to join about 20 Australian responders already on the ground.
"Because the region is cut off they will get as close as they possibly can, and they will do all they can to ensure Australia plays its part and does its bit."

Israeli settlers have assaulted members of a US television crew in the occupied West Bank.
NBC News international correspondent Matt Bradley has been identified as one of the journalists attacked in the incident, which the Palestinian news agency WAFA says took place in the village of Jalud, south of Nablus.
The assault has come just a day after dozens of masked Israeli settler militants attacked homes surrounding the occupied West Bank village of Qusra on Saturday, the first major attack since a siege by settlers in the area earlier this month drew an international outcry.
Witnesses have told the Reuters news agency that the settlers surrounded a home in that incident, throwing stones while seven Palestinians were trapped inside.

British far right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos has been deported from the United States.
The Department of Homeland Security has released a statement saying the 41 year old was sent back to the UK for overstaying his visa, after entering the country legally in 2019.
The Department says Yiannopoulos was issued a final order of removal on July 22.
Yiannopoulos has previously called for stricter immigration enforcement than the Trump administration has carried out so far, including ICE checkpoints at supermarket entrances.

Labor's Georgia Tree is yet to concede the by-election of Secret Harbour in Western Australia, after One Nation claimed victory for what would be their first ever lower house seat in the state.
Data from WA's Electoral Commission indicates that One Nation's Luke Herdegen has secured almost 40 percent of first preference results in the over 75 percent of votes counted thus far.
The WA result follows One Nation securing four lower-house seats in South Australia's March state election, the first lower-house places the party had ever secured outside of Queensland.
The anti-immigration party also won a maiden lower-house seat in the federal parliament in May when it triumphed in the Farrer by-election.

A new study has found male perpetrators of violence from migrant and refugee backgrounds face significant barriers in accessing support to change.
The study from the Australia's National Research Organisation for Women's Safety is recommending more funding for multicultural organisations to help deliver behavioural change programs in more languages.
ANROWS research director Kristin Diemer says there is limited access to all men's behavioural change programs in Australia and the mainstream offering is often not suited to migrant men.

Tadej Pogacar has crashed out of the La Vuelta race in Spain.
Television footage shows the race leader and five-time Tour de France winner colliding with another rider with over 30 kilometres left in the stage eight ride from Pucol to Xeraco, then being hit by other competitors coming from behind.
UAE Team Emirates medical director, Dr Adrian Rotunno, says the Slovenian has now been diagnosed with a concussion and two fractures, and will require surgery on his clavicle.
Frenchman Bryan Coquard ultimately won the stage instead, after several other riders went down in another crash in the final kilometre.
