Israel has launched a raid in Gaza on the Nasser hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis.

Gaza health authorities say at least three Palestinians have been killed, with several others injured in the operation.

The Israel Army's spokesperson and rear admiral, Daniel Hagari says special forces acted on credible intelligence, and that staff were warned.

“We have credible intelligence from a number of sources, including from released hostages, indicating that Hamas held hostages at the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis and that there may be bodies of our hostages in the Nasser Hospital facility. The IDF is conducting a precise and limited operation inside Nasser hospital. This sensitive operation was prepared with precision and is being conducted by IDF special forces who underwent specific training for this mission."

Australia has found multiple instances of misinformation in the allegations against UNRWA, the UN aid agency for Palestinian refugees.

Israel alleged that aid workers from the U-N agency had participated in the Hamas attacks in Israel on October 7th.

Last month (in January) Australia joined other nations in suspending funding for the organisation as it investigates its allegations.

While the initial report said 30 agency staff had been involved, it found less than half were staff according to the assistant secretary for foreign affairs Marc Innes Brown.

Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong has defended the suspension of funding, saying it was in line with international partners.

"I wish we were in a different position. I hope the international community can, through these processes, be given the confidence to keep supporting UNWRA. That is my position, I know it's not the Coalition's position, well some, but I know that is my position and the government's position."

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has congratulated Indonesia for holding a successful presidential vote.

Indonesia's outgoing President Joko Widodo has also commended Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto for winning the country's presidential election.

He declared victory after unofficial counts showed he was in the lead, as counting continues in what was the world’s largest single-day election.

Mr Subianto says he's grateful for the "quick count" results.

"This victory must be the victory of the people of Indonesia. Prabowo-Gibran and all of the Indonesia Forward coalition will embrace all elements and powers and become the president, vice-president, and government present for all the people of Indonesia."

It was Mr Subianto's third time running for president.

The federal government is providing an additional $50 million to Ukraine on the third anniversary of Russia's invasion.

The money is to go to the International Fund for Ukraine, which uses contributions from across the world to procure military equipment and provide lethal and non-lethal support.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says Australia will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton also said the additional funding was an investment in global security and democracy.

World Cup 2022 top scorer Kylian Mbappe has signalled his intent to depart P-S-G at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old's contract with the French champions is due to expire and he has been linked with multi-time European champions Real Madrid.

Mbappe had at one point been placed outside of the P-S-G squad and was training on his own for a period of time, before returning to the team's lineup.

Any potential transfer is expected to reach a record-breaking amount, with Mbappe's contract still having a one-year extension clause.
