Nancy Pelosi to step down as House speaker

Democrat Nancy Pelosi has announced she will not seek a leadership role in the new, Republican-controlled House of Representatives. The 82-year-old was the first woman to become House speaker, and her decision to step down comes after a politically-motivated attack on her husband last month in their San Francisco home.
