A two-year-old child from Sydney has died at a Westmead hospital from a COVID-19 infection.
New South Wales has reported three other deaths including two women and one man aged in their 70s, 80s and 90s.
The state has recorded 14,970 new COVID-19 cases, 1,163 people in hospital, and 34 patients are in intensive care.
In Victoria, there are 7,531 new infections and no new deaths.
There are 248 people in hospital, including 20 in the intensive care unit and five patients on ventilators.
And the A-C-T has 898 new infections, no deaths, 39 people in the hospital, and four people in the I-C-U.
New South Wales paramedics are taking industrial action for 24 hours by refusing to leave their posts to fill gaps at other ambulance stations.
It's part of a union campaign to improve emergency responder staffing and pay.
The union is pushing for an extra 1,500 paramedics, which it argues are needed to address deteriorating response times from ambulance services across the state.
It also wants a pandemic payment and a pay rise of more than 2.5 per cent.
Australian Paramedics Association New South Wales president Chris Kastelan says staff are demanding a better-resourced service, a fairer workplace, and improved coverage and care for the community.
Nine victims of the recent flooding in the New South Wales town of Lismore have dumped flood drenched household goods outside the Prime Minister's official Sydney residence.
The group says it is taking action outside Kirribilli House to protest against Scott Morrison's handling of the floods crisis.
They say Mr Morrison has failed again while the Prime Minister says the government is working on the rebuilding of communities.
"We've worked together to both respond to the terrible floods that have been experienced here in southeast Queensland and the recovery, clean up are operations that are well underway."
Mr Morrison has promised to spend money to overcome bureaucracy and help flood victims in both New South Wales and Queensland.
And the New South Wales government has announced an independent inquiry into the state's devastating floods.
Retired police commissioner Michael Fuller and engineer Mary O'Kane will lead the inquiry.
The investigation will examine the state's preparedness, recovery and response to the recent flood emergency that has killed several people and displaced thousands.
An interim report is due by June 30th
To sport, the Gold Coast Suns have beaten the West Coast Eagles in Sunday night's round one match.
It was the Suns' first win against West Coast in Perth in 10 attempts, with the Suns securing seven of the last eight goals to seal the victory.
Gold Coast's head coach Stuart Dew has praised midfielder Matt Rowell.
"The execution can be off, you can make some mistakes, but in the end, when it's a tight game, it's who's got the biggest heart and we all know how big Rowell's heart is when he comes to competing."
