AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan says there will be a full investigation of allegations of mistreatment targeting First Nations players at the Hawthorn Football Club.
It comes after the findings of a review which was handed to senior management two weeks ago, was reported in the media.
Mr McLachlan says the confidential report handed to the club and the contents will not be released to the public.
He says it is appropriate the issues are looked at by the independent panel.
The United Nations General Assembly has begun in New York with a warning from the Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, that the world is facing many challenges.
After two years of pandemic related disruptions, foreign dignitaries have returned to New York City to meet in person for the annual meeting.
While Russia's invasion of Ukraine is expected to dominate many of the talks, Mr Guterres says that leaders are failing to make enough progress on other issues such as climate change, and food insecurity.
"We have a duty to act, and yet we are gridlocked in colossal global dysfunction. The international community is not ready or willing to tackle the big, dramatic challenges of our age. These crises threaten the very future of humanity and the fate of our planet. Progress on these issues and more is being held hostage by geopolitical tensions."
Foreign Minister Penny Wong has met with her Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba, at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Minister Kuleba requested additional military assistance from Australia.
Minister Wong is joined by climate minister Chris Bowen and Senator Patrick Dodson at the Assembly, representing Australia in the meeting of global leaders.
Minister Wong says Russia's invasion has so far dominated talks.
"I had a very good meeting with Minister Kuleba, I expressed to him again the solidarity of the Australian people with the Ukrainian people. I expressed to him again our admiration for their courage and their sacrifice in the face of the illegal, abhorrent invasion by Mr Putin and the Russian troops."
Dozens of children and a driver have been rushed to hospital, after a bus collided with a truck just outside of Melbourne.
The bus was carrying 27 students from Loreto College in Ballarat when it crashed on the Western Highway causing it to roll down an embankment.
A teenage girl and a driver are being treated in hospital for serious injuries, while the other passengers are being monitored in hospital as a precaution.
It’s understood the the students and teachers were travelling to Melbourne airport as part of a school trip to the United States.
Detective Inspector Roger Schranz says the investigation into what happened is still in its early stages.
"A fully laden heavy vehicle was travelling towards the city, and it has collided with a bus full of school children embarking on an excursion. The truck has come around the corner and headed down towards the hill - and it has seen the speed reduction and banked up traffic and collided with the bus, forcing the bus off the left-hand side of the freeway down to the cliff."
Australia has beaten India by four wickets at the first T20 International in Mohali, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
