The family of Virginia Guiffre has welcomed the arrest of former Prince, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
Ms Guiffre was a prominent accuser of late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and alleged Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell trafficked her to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor when she was 17 years old.
The former prince, who has denied all claims against him, reached an out-of-court settlement with her in 2022, but failed to admit liability or apologise.
Ms Guiffre died from suicide in April 2025, aged 41.
Her sister-in-law, Amanda Roberts, is pleased with the latest developments.
"If it had not been for Virginia, none of this would have been uncovered. None of this would have happened and so we are just...we're all of the emotions right now."

British police have released the British royal after questioning him over allegations of misconduct in public office.
Police say they are investigating a complaint over the alleged sharing of confidential material by the former prince with Jeffrey Epstein when the 66-year-old was working as a British trade envoy.
A former chief superintendent with London's Metropolitan Police, Dal Babu says the police have used a very broad power of arrest.
"He's been arrested for misconduct in public office. It's a common law offence which basically means it's not legislated, it's an offence that's been
developed by judges. The penalty is life imprisonment, and it essentially involves somebody in public office who misuses their position."

Federal Liberal MP Melissa McIntosh says Pauline Hanson is capitalising on fear over the news of Australian women with IS ties trying to return from Syria.
Senator Hanson's anti-Muslim comments this week have been labelled cruel and divisive.
Melissa McIntosh has told Sky News Senator Hanson has deliberately tried draw links between what she says are two fundamentally different issues.
"The need to separate what's going on with the so-called ISIS brides and the impacts that immigration, more broadly, has on communities like ours in western Sydney. So, these are two fundamentally different things that are getting caught up together and Pauline Hanson is taking opportunity with that."

An appeal court has increased the sentence of a man convicted over a fatal hit-and-run-crash in Darwin that killed an Indigenous man.
25-year-old Jake Danby was originally sentenced to a 12-month community corrections order for hitting two Indigenous men with his car in June 2024 and then fleeing the scene.
One of the men died from his injuries.
After the crash, Danby sent a series of text messages boasting about the crash where he called the victims "dogs" and described the crash as a a "two for one combo".
The Northern Territory Court of Criminal Appeal has increased his sentence, and he will now serve two years in home detention and have to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet.

United States President Donald Trump has held the inaugural meeting of his so-called "Board of Peace", pledging $14.2 billion for the reconstruction of Gaza.
As well as the Gaza Reconstruction Fund, Donald Trump says several nations plan on sending thousands of troops to Gaza as part of an International Stabilisation Force.
The aim is to train 12,000 police and have 20,000 troops.
US Major General Jasper Jeffers will serve as the commander of the force.
"The ISF will do two things, stabilise the security environment in Gaza and enable civilian governance as established by the National Committee. For the last few months, we've had a team on the ground of US military experts preparing the infrastructure for the ISF."
Among those committing troops to the ISF are Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakstan, Kosovo and Albania.

In AFL, Greater Western Sydney's woes have worsened with two players suffering hamstring injuries in a trial game against Collingwood.
Brent Daniels and Cody Angove both left the field in the second quarter of Friday's match against the Pies.
The extent of the injuries will be assessed post-match.
The Giants have copped big pre-season blows with star midfielder Tom Green to miss the entire premiership season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in a knee last week.
Dual All Australian defender Sam Taylor has been sent to a surgeon after scans revealed a significant hamstring injury.
Taylor was injured playing for Western Australia against Victoria in last Saturday's State of Origin clash and could need surgery.
The Giants are yet to put a timeframe on the brilliant backman's return but he will miss the early stages of the premiership season at least, with any operation meaning a longer stint on the sidelines.
