The daughter of Karen and Borce Ristevski says her father was a calming influence and never aggressive.
Mr Ristevski is charged over the murder of his wife.
Speaking during a pre-trial hearing, the couple's daughter Sarah Ristevski also said her mother was more prone to getting worked up than her husband and it wasn't strange for her to leave the house on foot to clear her mind.
Karen Ristevski vanished from the family's Avondale Heights home in June 2016 and her husband was charged with her alleged murder more than a year later.
Sarah, 23, testified on Tuesday at a court hearing that will determine whether her dad will stand trial.
The young graphic designer said her parents had their occasional disagreements but they were generally trivial.

"I didn't grow up in a household where there were a lot of arguments," Sarah told Melbourne Magistrates Court.
"Mum would get annoyed. She had the same personality as me.
"And dad was always the calm one. He would calm us down."
Defence lawyer David Hallowes SC then asked: "Did you ever see him being aggressive towards your mum?"
"Never," Sarah replied.

When asked about the nature of her parents' arguments, Sarah used an example of her dad going to buy milk at her mum's request.
A sad smile flashed across her face as she recalled her dad returning with the milk and a packet of biscuits.
"Dad would say 'well the Shapes are only a dollar each'," she said, welling up with tears while also smiling.
"And mum would say 'but now I'm going to eat them and my thighs will get fat'."

As she gave evidence from the witness stand, Sarah appeared not to look at Borce, who sat in the dock in a charcoal suit.
Fashion boutique-owner Karen was missing for eight months before her remains were found at Macedon Regional Park by two horticulturists in February 2017.
Her cause of death could not be established by an autopsy.
Borce, 54, who was charged in December, is fighting the murder allegations.
He claimed Karen, 47, went for a walk to clear her mind on the morning of June 30, 2016, and never returned.
Police allege Borce lied about his movements on the day of his wife's disappearance and made inconsistent statements.
Detectives used CCTV footage, telecommunications data and fuel consumption analysis to allege that Borce killed his wife.
It's alleged Borce murdered Karen at home and took her Mercedes-Benz to dispose of her body in bushland, killing the signal on his phone along the way.
"The accused deliberately excluded and withheld information and fabricated certain facts to distance himself from the crime," prosecutor Matt Fisher has told the court.
The Ristevskis were in dire financial straits and there is evidence they would sometimes argue about money and business.
Their fashion store Bella Bleu had lost more than $320,000 over a four-year period and they had mounting credit card debt of more than $82,000.
The committal hearing continues.
