North Melbourne great Brent Harvey is a long shot to continue his decorated AFL career, according his manager.
Harvey is still mulling whether he will attempt to extend his AFL record 432-game career at another club next season after the Kangaroos told him he would not be offered a new contract, along with Drew Petrie, Nick Dal Santo and Michael Firrito.
"It was always going to be a hard decision for him to pull another jumper on," Harvey's manager Shane Casley told Trade Radio.
"That's what he battles with ... 'can I see myself pulling another club's jumper on?'
"So it was probably going to be a long shot that he did (play on), but he hasn't ruled it out."
Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has categorically denied Harvey would play for the Magpies next year after persistent speculation linking the two parties.
Casley admitted he had received no firm offers from clubs interested in securing the 38-year-old.
"At the moment there's none ... (but) we haven't put ourselves out there (because) Boomer still hasn't made his mind up what he wants to do," he said.
"The clubs aren't ringing me and I'm not ringing them. We've met with no club and we've had no offers from clubs."
The AFL free agency period starts on Friday October 7 and runs for 10 days, with the trade period running from Monday October 10 to Thursday, October 20.
Daniel Wells is another North veteran mulling his future.
The Kangaroos have a contract offer in front of him, but manager Liam Pickering confirmed Collingwood and Geelong also have some interest in luring the 31-year-old.
Petrie, who will be 34 at the start of next season, is open to adding to his 316 AFL games at a new club.
"He's certainly said to me that he'd be happy to explore options and he's had some contact with the West Coast Eagles," Casley said.
"But West Coast have made it pretty clear that Drewy's one of three or four (players) they are looking at, so they haven't committed to Drewy and we haven't committed to them.
"But there's certainly been some dialogue."
Dal Santo is yet to announce his intentions, while Firrito has retired.
