Turnbull government minister Ken Wyatt has bluntly rejected rumours he is planning to resign ahead of the next election.
"The short answer is bollocks," Mr Wyatt told AAP on Thursday.
"It is false news by Labor in order to create uncertainty in the minds of the voters of Hasluck."
He said he was looking forward to serving as a minister in the next term of coalition government.
Labor senator Murray Watt did not mention Mr Wyatt by name but asked the minister's WA colleague Mathias Cormann in a Senate estimates hearing on Thursday whether he was aware of an impending resignation.
Senator Cormann initially thought Senator Watt was asking about another MP being caught up in the citizenship fiasco, stating he was confident all coalition members were compliant with the constitution.
However asked to expand on whether any MPs were considering their future he said: "I don't know what individual members in the Labor party or in the Liberal party might be considering themselves privately."
"I don't have any information at all that any of my colleagues in Western Australia are considering resigning between now and July 28 (the proposed date of by-elections)."
