SBS PopAsia’s Kevin Kim has been named as this year’s Cosmopolitan and Tinder Bachelor of the Year.

Kim, 29, was picked as the winner out of 30 other men including reality television stars, actors, tradesmen, surfers, doctors, models, firefighters and some of dating app Tinder’s most swiped.

He beat out Home And Away star Orpheus Pledger, Knafeh Bakery owner Joey El-Issa, former The Bachelorette contestant Michael Turnbull and rugby sevens plater Tim Anstee.

The PopAsia presenter, who migrated to Australia from Korea with his family in 1997, channelled his love of music by leading the Sydney Angels Choir and performing in various musicals.

After heading back to Korea, Kim was selected as the lead singer of K-pop band Z:EA.

The band’s debut solo album ‘Nativity’ was released in 2010 and became an instant hit.

In 2017, Kim was announced as the host of the new SBS PopAsia 'Live with Kevin Kim' show.

In his Bachelor of the Year interview, Kim described himself as “passionate, optimistic and outgoing”.

He said his hidden talent was impersonations and he could do a really good one of Michael Jackson.

When asked what he looked for in a girl, Kim responded: “A beautiful smile, humour and a positive outlook on life.”

The presenter was announced as the winner on Thursday night at Sydney’s Coogee Pavilion.

“Bachelor of the Year is all about celebrating men in Australia who have different careers, passions and life stories,” Cosmopolitan editor Keshnee Kemp said.

“It’s a tough job to narrow the nominees down to one, but our readers have voted and we are very excited to be revealing the country’s most eligible Bachelor.”
