ATO unfair treatment call-out
The Small Business Ombudsman is calling for small businesses experiencing trouble with ATO to contact her office.
Kate Carnell says she is interested in examples where the ATO has targeted small businesses unfairly and where business owners have been affected financially.
“Our timeframes on this inquiry are extremely tight, so it's important small business owners tell us their story as a matter of urgency – within the next week or two," Ms Carnell says.
“We want to gain a better understanding of how the ATO is adversely interacting with small businesses so we can provide the government with constructive and realistic advice.”
Small businesses can anonymously explain their situation by emailing inquiries@asbfeo.gov.au
