Small Business Secrets first met up with pet minding service Mad Paws last year, when it had around 8000 pet-sitters.

Since then, the three and a half-year-old service now boasts over 300,000 pets registered on the platform and 5,000 extra sitters.

Mad Paws is the brainchild of Belgian university student Alexis Soulopoulos.

He wanted to connect pet lovers with animals for home stays, walks or visits to the vet.

The service has continued to grow to the next level having just received $5 million in funding.

The backing comes from a group of investors including Qantas and Airtasker.

The pet minding service has also secured an agreement with Qantas, ensuring frequent-flyers points can be earned when pet-sitters are booked through the platform.

The start-up is now aiming to become the go-to site for pet-sitting, dog walking, training, and grooming.
