Six8, the app that connects musicians with an audience has developed a partnership with Event Cinemas.

The sharing platform hosts more than 1,000 artists that are available for bookings such as house parties, weddings and even singing telegrams.

The new deal with event cinemas will provide in-foyer entertainment over summer.

Founded by two friends, Keith Sue and Saurabh Das, the Six8 app allows fans to search for and book live music.

Small Business Secrets first met with the co-founders early this year, after launching the app.

Keith explains it was about improving business for musicians, “from the artist side, it’s really about giving them a platform to advertise themselves properly”.

“So people can jump on to Six8 and really discover artists that are in the area as well.”

The company charges a 10% booking fee to keep the business running, but hopes to lower that to 5% as the business grows.

Musician bookings have doubled within the past couple of months.

Six8 is now preparing to move into a series of funding rounds for early next year, to continue to grow the platform.
