Eight years on from setting up its base in Newtown, Young Henrys has seen their brand expand nationally and globally.
The brewery now boasts some big fans including music icons, Foo Fighters. The band joined the brewers to create the limited edition lager, aptly named 'Foo Town' to celebrate the band’s Australian tour.
Co-owner Dan Hampton explained that their initial aim was to just make beer that people wanted.
“Everyone seemed to be doing big, hoppy beers at the time - the anti of mainstream beer,” says Dan.
“We thought you don’t have to do that, just make good beer."
Since then the boutique brewer has been named South Sydney Rabbitohs official beer of choice.
Rabbitohs members and fans can enjoy exclusive discounts at participating venues on Rabbitohs match days.
Young Henrys' growth mirrors the trend in the wider craft brewing industry in Australia. Since 2013, the sector has grown at an annual rate of 9.7%, according to research firm IBISWorld.
