South African-born Storm Roux among A-League's bright stars

Storm Roux is a young man more worldly than his 21 years would suggest.

Born in South Africa he moved to New Zealand as a toddler and by the time he was 13 his family had moved again, this time to Perth.

His football mad father encouraged him to play the game and given his upbringing it seems fitting he chose the world game.

His first season as a professional has seen him not only establish himself in the starting line-up of the reigning A-League champion Central Coast Mariners,  but also represent his country of choice New Zealand in a World Cup qualifier.

Roux is happy with his first full season in the A-League but told SBS he’s one day hoping to play on the biggest club stage of all in Europe.  And according to the experts he’s got the right game and the right attitude to achieve his goal.
