Voters have been posting pictures of their beloved pets to the Facebook group Dog World as election day rolls on, with some canine companions more reluctant than others to insert themselves into Australia's political debate.
The big two themselves - Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten - understandably know the power an endorsement from man's best friend can bestow on Prime Ministerial hopefuls and have been working dogs into the election campaign via social media over the past few weeks.

While Malcolm and Lucy Turnbull's floofer JoJo has been simultaneously exhausted and aggressive through the months of lobbying, Bill Shorten's love of a solid English bulldog was unearthed on Twitter last month.
From democracy doggers to political puppers, only time will tell exactly who has been a good boy after all *pats*.
