Advertisers have long tried to provide estimates of who looks at their advertising. The more people that view an advertisement, the more they can charge.
But traditional ways of measuring advertising are not very accurate. There's a lot of estimation and guessing involved.
Now one company is using modern face detection technology to track how many people look at advertising. Amscreen is rolling out technology through its advertising network that can track faces determining how many people saw an ad and even capturing their sex, and age range. Some may find this creepy, but Amscreen say their technology doesn't capture or store images, only the data.
