First we had Egg Boy, now we have Book Man

A man who shut down an anti-abortion protester while reading a book is being elevated to Egg Boy level fame.

A Sydneysider has been hailed a hero after he told an America preaching on a crowded train to "just shut up," with people on social media comparing him to Egg Boy.

Malcolm Frawley has been dubbed "Book Man" after a video of him went viral of him standing up to self-described "anti-abortion preacher" Philip Blair - all while reading a book.

In an interview on The Project, Mr Frawley said he was compelled to speak up when the American began shouting about "unborn children".

"I wondered if there were some women on that packed carriage who might not be interested in a conversation about unborn children that was conducted by a man," he said.

The viral video showed Mr Blair yelling at a group of travellers, calling on them to "return to living in a moral way".

"We care more about saving the whales, than we care about saving our unborn children," Mr Blair said to commuters.

"All you care about is more sin...it's a selfish world that you live in and you need to repent."

Mr Frawley asked Blair the American to "just shut-up".

"Mate if you ask for our time we have the right to say no - we're not giving it to you," he said in the video.

"It's great that you care, but I don't want you to tell me this shit."
Mr Frawley explained on The Project that he believes faith is private and the monologue was an intrusion.

"For me faith is a personal and private thing," he said.

"If you and I wanted to sit down over a coffee or beer and discuss our beliefs that might be fine.
But I don't want them inflicted on me in public when I'm trying to read a book.
He said his one regret was that he swore on the crowded train, which may have offended commuters.

"I know that there are people find profanity upsetting, and I realise afterwards that I might have upset people on that carriage," he said.

And when asked what book he was reading, he said "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Video went viral from Christian account

Phillip Blair has been preaching around Sydney for the last fortnight with videos uploaded to the "Torch of Christ Ministries," which describes itself as a group "changing the world one soul at a time by burning the light of Jesus Christ into all the dark places".

The video from the Sydney train went viral from his account.

Preacher Phillip Blair has responded to the news coverage on his Youtube channel.

"A lot of news outlets are covering it and they are twisting it in a way that we are impeding on their freedom, and that is not the case," he said.

"There is a lot of spiritual warfare going on.

"A lot of news outlets want to talk to me but it's to paint me in a bad light."
