"Some people do an uncomfortable chuckle and do a double take. And I know they're going to look again, so I'm like 'hey! My tits are out!'"
Mac Raymond is part of the campaign to Free The Nipple. "I definitely think women should feel comfortable sitting in a park topless if that's what they want to do. Men do stuff like that all the time. And women should be allowed to do stuff like that... I don't feel there's any justifcation in... saying women can't do that because somebody feels uncomfortable. I'm incredible uncomfortable in seeing men's testicles when they're wearing budgie smugglers."
Some months back an 'army' of topless woman invaded New York, and made a film about it. It's become part of a global campaign.
"You have to be an activist to agree that it's bullshit that a man can walk around shirtless on a hot summer's day and a woman will get arrested for it?"
Nipples are currently not allowed to be shown on social networks like Facebook and Instagram; no bare chests, breast feeding, body art or breast cancer scars. When Scout Willis (daughter of Bruce and Demi) had her account suspended after posting a picture of herself in a sheer top, she took a topless stroll around NYC in protest.
Mac says: "When a woman is comfortable with her body people are uncomfrortable with that, because we're not meant to be. Everything about society tells us we're not meant to like our bodies. I live for a day when I can take my shirt off and nobody even flinches."
